Amy Conti
Meet Amy Conti, one of our amazing Keep Mahjing On instructors who proves that Mahjong truly runs in the family! Amy lives in East Hanover, NJ, and teaches all around Essex and Morris Counties — and beyond. By day, she’s a lawyer, but by night (and often by family demand!) she’s a passionate Mahjong instructor proudly carrying on a five-generation tradition. A proud Jewish-Italian “pizza bagel,” Amy grew up surrounded by tiles, laughter, latkes, tomato sauce, and the rhythmic clink of racks.
Amy’s Mahjong roots trace back to her great-grandmother, who first brought the game into the family in the 1940s. From there, it was passed down through the generations — to her grandmother, then her mom, and now to Amy herself. Today, Amy has come full circle, watching her own two children play with their 94-year-old great-grandmother, now lovingly known as Bubbie.
In the Conti household, Mahjong isn’t just a game — it’s a way of life. With her warm, approachable, and humor-filled teaching style, Amy makes every lesson feel like family game night. Mahjong all day, every day, baby!
