Meet Erica Rubinson, our OG Co-Founder and all-around Mahj powerhouse. Erica lives in Freehold, NJ with her family and teaches Mahjong throughout Monmouth County, sharing her love of the game with players of all ages and stages. By day, she’s a dedicated school-based speech therapist helping kids find their voice - literally and figuratively. Each summer, she swaps speech sessions for ceramics at Country Roads Day Camp, channeling her creativity in new ways. A proud 4:30 a.m. “early BAM bird,” she somehow manages to squeeze in her workouts before sunrise and still show up smiling. Her latest obsession? Weighted-vest walks paired with her favorite podcasts (we see you, Mahjong & Mics).

Erica first learned to play Mahjong during COVID with an amazing group of mom friends, and she’s been hooked ever since. For her, it’s never just about the tiles - it’s about the laughter, connection, and friendships that make every game special. Erica’s positive energy, warmth, and love for the game helped lay the foundation for Keep Mahjing On, and I truly couldn’t imagine this journey without her.
