Meet Tina Salwen, one of our incredible Keep Mahjing On instructors who brings both heart and energy to every table she teaches. Tina lives in Monroe with her family and teaches Mahjong throughout Mercer and Monmouth Counties - and you can even catch her in Hoboken from time to time!

Tina first learned to play Mahjong from her amazing mom Barbara in 2019, just before her daughter was born, and she spent her maternity leave playing - and hasn’t stopped since! Three generations later, she’s proudly keeping the family tradition alive.

When she’s not teaching Mahjong, Tina is a middle school math teacher who loves helping students (and Mahjong players!) discover confidence through learning. She’s also an avid audiobook listener, an enthusiastic member of her book club, and a true Broadway lover who never misses an excuse to head into NYC for a show. Competitive in the best way, Tina thrives on the joy of friendly gameplay and loves sharing that excitement with new Mahj students.
